Overview: Kniha přináší politologický pohled na dosud spíše opomíjenou oblast – na českou komunální politiku mezi volbami 1994 a 2006. Zkoumá způsob fungování nejnižší úrovně českéhopolitického systému ve 206 obcích s rozšířenou působností, tedy v jakýchsi mikroregionálních centrech ČR, v nichž žijí tři pětiny obyvatel ČR.Autor se zamýšlí nad teorií komunální politiky a nad teorií koalic, kdy navrhuje nový systém jejich klasifikace. Předmětem výzkumu pak je především typologie a složení koalic v obcích s rozšířenou působností a stabilita tamních voličských vzorců. Privilegovanými subjekty zkoumání přitom byly čtyři velké parlamentní strany – ODS, ČSSD, KSČM a KDU-ČSL. Bylo zjištěno, že i ve větších městech má komunální politika vlastní logiku a dynamiku, která není zcela odvozena od logiky a dynamiky parlamentní.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Will be looking for more from this author.

Really enjoyed this one. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Pretty good overall. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. Enjoyable weekend read.

Really enjoyed this one. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Will be looking for more from this author.

Finished it in a couple of days. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. A solid 5/5 for me.
