Overview: We spend the majority of our twenties partying, dating, avoiding pregnancy and focusing on education and career. No one ever tells you that your chances of conceiving drop dramatically by your mid-thirties. You never think that when you finally decide to settle down and start a family that your worst nightmare could be right around the corner. That nightmare became my reality shortly after I married the love of my life. What we couldn’t have known is we were about to embark on the wildest, most stressful, heartbreaking and fulfilling journey of our lives.As anyone that has struggled with trying to get pregnant will tell you, it’s an exceptionally lonely place to be. There’s lots of hope and even more letdowns, ultra-highs and extremely low lows. Any glimmer of hope is welcome, that is why I wrote this book.My story is a journey through the various avenues my husband and I tried to become parents. We experienced the broken system of fostering children, the challenges and blessings of private adoption, the miracle of pregnancy and childbirth and the depression and hopelessness that comes with postpartum depression. I’m hoping my story will touch others and help them climb out of that disparaging hole of sadness. This is the story of my fight; our fight and I wouldn’t change a thing.
