Overview: In this beautifully illustrated picture book from Lara Hawthorne, a mysterious creature from a secluded volcano crater explores the outside world for the very first time.Ratty is an enormous rat who lives deep inside the crater of an extinct volcano nestled in the rain forest. A very satisfying read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Will be looking for more from this author.

Glad someone recommended this to me. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Would probably read it again at some point.

A solid read. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. A solid 4 stars from me.

It was just alright. Some parts were interesting, while others were a bit of a slog to get through. Just right down the middle.

A very satisfying read. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. A solid 5/5 for me.
