Overview: In de lange, hete zomer van 1976 leefde FC VVV in een roes. De Venlose profclub promoveerde via de nacompetitie, met de onvergetelijke finale op de Wageningse Berg, naar de eredivisie. In de voorbereiding oefende FC VVV in eigen huis tegen de Europese topclubs Borussia Mönchengladbach en Barcelona, met Johan Cruijff en Johan Neeskens. FC VVV speelde voor gemiddeld tussen de 15.000 en 20.000 toeschouwers in De Koel, met een uitschieter naar 25.000 fans in de thuiswedstrijd tegen Ajax dat seizoen in de eredivisie.Ger van Rosmalen, destijds de benjamin in de ploeg, en schrijver Maurice Ambaum laten de voetbaldroomzomer van FC VVV herbeleven in een boek dat de 100 dagen beschrijft tussen de start van de nacompetitie en de overwinning op PSV. I have mixed feelings about this one. The writing was fine, but I didn't feel very connected to the characters. They felt a bit flat. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.

Pretty good overall. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Not bad at all.

An average read for me. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.

Finished it in a couple of days. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
