Overview: Rakkaus ja taide = elämä. Ensimmäinen elämäkerta Timo Sarpanevasta, suomalaisen designin kansainvälisesti arvostetusta voimahahmosta, jonka työt elävät edelleen. Kirjaan syvälle punottu Timon ja Marjatan rakkaustarina todistaa, miten rakkaus ja taide tekevät ehjiksi. Marjatta Sarpaneva eli lähes viisi vuosikymmentä miehensä taiteilija-muotoilija Timo Sarpanevan rinnalla. Millimetrin tarkkuudella hän seurasi miehensä kädenjälkeä jokaista yksityiskohtaa myöten oppien luomis- ja suunnittelutyön salat. Kirjassa tämä syvä kokemus synnyttää ennennäkemättömän kuva- ja tekstikerronnan yhdistelmän. Tarkkanäköinen tulkinta päästää lukijan taiteilijan vierelle, missä elämä ja taide ovat yksi ja sama asia. Taiteilija jatkaa tasapainoilua menneisyyden varjoissa, ja kertoja etsii omaa tietään. Marjatta Sarpaneva o.s. Svennevig (s. 1944) varttui Helsingin Kalliossa. Keskikoulun jälkeen hän meni töihin Erva-Latvalan mainostoimistoon. Mallinura aukeni, ja Marjatta kulki suomalaisen muodin vientimatkoilla ympäri maailmaa. Todelliseksi elämäntyöksi muodostui tiivis yhteistyö elämänkumppani Timo Sarpanevan kanssa. Nykyään Marjatta Sarpaneva työskentelee Sarpaneva Design Oy:ssä.

Such a great read. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Would probably read it again at some point.

Really enjoyed this one. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Will be looking for more from this author.
