Overview: Yo anotaba mis gastos y también lo que había ganado, pero eran columnas de números que pocas veces volvía a consultar y que cuando lo hacía no entendía qué significaban. Aunque pusiera una fecha o alguna otra referencia para guiarme no era suficiente, al poco tiempo esos datos no me decían nada. Entonces empecé a escribir en prosa, con todo el recorrido del dinero y sus causas y consecuencias: pagué esto y aquello, me pagaron tal cosa y con eso repuse lo que había sacado de allá. Así. Nunca me sirvió para ordenarme ni para hacer un cálculo de algo pero sí me interesó lo de escribir los números, hacer escritura de las cuentas, relatar el debe y el haber. Si las anotaciones habituales no conseguían retener algo del paso del dinero por mi vida, ni siquiera conseguían que pudiera controlarlo, relatarlo sí me permitió observar su presencia como una puntuación, un ritmo. Escribiendo este Diario del dinero me sentí haciendo una inversión. Invertí los términos: gastar es una nueva oportunidad de contar y ganar es perder la vergüenza y desnudar cuánto recibo por mis trabajos. Empecé a revisar viejos diarios que no tenían esta intención de antemano y me di cuenta que ahí estaba el mismo ritmo, esa aparición del dinero en medio de todas las experiencias de la amistad, de la familia, del amor, de la música, del cine y de la escritura misma, acompañando el agobio y el alivio de los trabajos y los días. Quise que las entradas estuvieran desordenadas como si un viento hubiese entrado por la ventana y volado las hojas. Y, como si de verdad esto sucediera, que en medio de eso hubiese islas de orden cronológico también. A solid read. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. A solid 4 stars from me.

Such a great read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Would probably read it again at some point.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The writing was fine, but I didn't feel very connected to the characters. They felt a bit flat. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.
