Overview: En la actualidad, el cuerpo se encuentra en el centro del debate, tanto como espacio de control y de reproducción social como de resistencia y transformación. Sobre ese mismo cuerpo y sobre su capacidad para crear realidad orbitan las artes performativas, razón por la que se han convertido en un campo de indagación estética y política fundamental desde que el drama dejó ser el núcleo de la escena para dar lugar a un conjunto de prácticas sensibles cuyo foco de atención se posa sobre el espacio, el tiempo, el movimiento, la percepción y el entorno. La irrupción de este conjunto de experiencias escénicas en las últimas décadas no solo difuminó las fronteras entre las denominadas “artes vivas” (danza, teatro, performance), sino que puso en crisis distinciones tan estructurantes de la experiencia moderna como las que oponían hacer y pensar, investigar y crear, arte y vida cotidiana o actor y espectador.Los ensayos reunidos en este libro no pretenden establecer un canon histórico ni montar un aparato crítico-interpretativo: tienen como punto de partida la práctica performativa contemporánea y se plantean en su conjunto como un continuo entre la acción y la reflexión.
