Overview: This book is the first book of the RISE OF THE GENETIKONS series. It is the story of three special children with naturally enhanced genetic powers born in a rural valley in Romania in 1930. They possess powers so great that Adolph Hitler sends his SS police to capture them and imprison them for his Third Reich war machine prior to World War II. Nicholas, Sonya and Andrea, their given names, become pawns of war until 1945 when the war ends. Rescued from a Nazi hospital designed for genetic manipulation by the American Allies, they were sent to America to be "studied" by the Special Sciences division of the U.S. military. Years later, during the chaos of hurricane Katrina, the three captives escape their prison cell disguised as a tomb house in St. Louis No. 1 cemetery, adjacent to the French Quarter in New Orleans, and disappear into the hedonistic night life of Bourbon Street and "The Quarter." They form a very charismatic and lethal me'nage a' trois relationship as they develop a supportive cult following in the Quarter. Andrea, the very beautiful, intelligent and ruthlessly cunning member of the collective, as they later are to be known, falls in love/lust with superstar, Bubba Bordelon. Bubba is a well known NFL, all pro, defensive lineman. He is six foot five, two hundred and seventy five pounds of muscle and bone, very rich, powerful and extremely handsome with Cajun wit and temperament. Bubba and Andrea make a striking power couple as they party like rock stars and rule the quarter. Little does Bubba know that Andrea has a deep, dark secret that only she, her two lovers and the U.S. military, quietly on their trail, have knowledge of. This is a dark, hedonistic romance story of historical fiction, perhaps not for those under eighteen years old.

I liked it for the most part. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. A solid 4 stars from me.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.
