Overview: The records show that there were in the Confederate armies from Mississippi the following commands: 49 Infantry Regiments. 24 Cavalry Regiments. 16 Cavalry Battalions. 1 Regiment Cavalry Reserves. 7 Regiments State Troops. 3 Battalions State Troops. 8 Battalions State Cavalry. 1 Mixed Regiment, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee. Mixed Battalion, Mississippi and Tennessee. Mixed Mississippi and Alabama Cavalry Battalion. 1 Regiment Partisan Rangers. 1 Battalion Partisan Rangers. 5 Battalions Sharpshooters. Artillery Regiment. Artillery Battalion. Artillery Battery. Jeff Davis Legion, mixed Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia cavalry. Of these 131 units perhaps 10% have had regimental histories written. The others are still waiting for someone to write a comprehensive account of their service. We have available Historical Sketch and Roster Volumes on 92 of these units. A very satisfying read. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

Pretty good overall. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Not bad at all.

Glad someone recommended this to me. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Will be looking for more from this author.
