Overview: De culturele diversiteit van de Nederlandse samenleving is permanent in beweging. Om daaraan recht te doen, moeten leraren zuiver omgaan met verschillen en overeenkomsten tussen leerlingen in de klas. Maar hoe leer je dat en hoe breng je dat als leraar over op je leerlingen? Culturele diversiteit in de klas (voorheen Intercultureel onderwijs in de praktijk) beantwoordt die vragen en vertaalt de antwoorden naar de dagelijkse onderwijspraktijk. Het boek bestaat uit drie delen. Deel 1 beschrijft de migratiegeschiedenis tot en met de multiculturele samenleving anno nu. Deel 2 gaat in op sociaalpsychologische en sociologische inzichten, noodzakelijk voor het zuiver leren omgaan met verschillen en overeenkomsten tussen groepen mensen. In een intermezzo wordt het huidige debat over de multiculturele samenleving besproken. In deel 3 staat de leraar centraal en komen onderwerpen als de inrichting van de school, de samenstelling van de klas en de rollen van de leraar aan de orde. Het afsluitende hoofdstuk slaat een brug naar de lespraktijk via simulaties, rollenspelen en ander oefenmateriaal. Alle hoofdstukken bevatten opdrachten.

Not bad, but not my favorite. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.

Really enjoyed this one. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Will be looking for more from this author.

I was pleasantly surprised. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
