Overview: Excerpt from Catalogue of the Western Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1952-1953At the point where the Allegheny and the Monongahela Rivers join to form the Ohio, soon after 1758 came the first settlement of what was ultimately the City of Pittsburgh. In the great migration of peoples into the West, it served as the natural gateway for travelers by boat or by wagon. Numerous colonies of scotch-irish Presbyterians came to the Western Pennsylvania counties bordering these waterways and built there farm homes and churches. Others, later, joined the ever rolling procession to the plains of the Mississippi basin and beyond.

Glad someone recommended this to me. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. A solid 5/5 for me.

Really enjoyed this one. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Glad I picked this up.

Good, but not quite perfect. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. A solid 4 stars from me.

Finished it in a couple of days. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Glad I picked this up.
