Overview: Social oppression over the centuries in the name of caste and tradition denied a large section of the Indian population its rightful place in society. The cultural world and contribution of these people remained largely ignored. Resistance to the ideology of caste and the assertion by Dalits for equity and justice have found expression through writings over a period of time. Since the 1970s there have been attempts by scholars across disciplines to shed light on the cultural world of Dalits by constructing alternative historical and religious traditions and even today Dalit identity continues to be an important agenda of academic debate. A very satisfying read. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Worth the time and money.

Really enjoyed this one. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Glad I picked this up.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Not bad at all.

I was pleasantly surprised. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Would probably read it again at some point.

Really enjoyed this one. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Will be looking for more from this author.
