Overview: The World We Left Behind—John AKA Morris the Cat sets out with his hiking partner Torry on March 17th 2013, after both men quit their jobs and sell everything they own to make it happen. The World We Left Behind: Book Two—Torry and John continue to clash over differences, and decidedly purchase an inflatable raft to take them almost 200 miles down the Shenandoah River towards Harpers Ferry. The World We Came to Find—For over 700 miles, John AKA ‘Morris the Cat’ had been traveling with his hiking partner, Torry. Both men share a yearning to experience true freedom and to escape civilization via the Appalachian Trail. Fed up with arguing and ready to call it quits, Torry finally decided to split ways with Morris on the river; walking away from the trail and everything it once meant to him. Morris the Cat would now have to sum up the courage to finish the next 1,500 miles of the AT all on his own. In this third, and final book in the series, readers will follow Morris as he continues north via any means necessary to complete his ultimate goal: retrieve a rock from the summit of Katahdin and bring pride both to himself and to his parents back home.

I was pleasantly surprised. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Glad I picked this up.

I liked it for the most part. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Still a good book.

I was pleasantly surprised. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Would probably read it again at some point.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Would probably read it again at some point.

Glad someone recommended this to me. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. A solid 5/5 for me.

Good, but not quite perfect. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. Enjoyable weekend read.
