Overview: Psihologia sănătăţii constituie un domeniu de studiu extrem de vast, cu profunde implicaţii în practica psihologică din toate ariile vieţii umane, sociale. Lucrarea de faţă îşi propune să ofere doritorilor de pregătire suplimentară repere moderne din cadrul acestei discipline. Ansamblul de volume intitulate “Psihologia sănătăţii – abordări aplicate – include studii de specialitate, semnate de autori români, cadre didactice universitare, practicieni din organizaţiile sănătăţii, dar şi tineri aspiranţi la o carieră în sănătate. Obiectivul acestor publicaţii este reprezentat de creşterea capitalului informativ, actualizarea informaţiilor în cadrul curriculei universitare, evidenţierea unor contribuţii româneşti, internaţionale, şi, mai ales, a contribuţiilor personale ale autorilor, valorificând interesele ştiinţifice actuale şi experienţa practică. Atât studiile din volumele apărute în anul 2010, cât şi cele care vor urma îşi propun să acopere teme generale şi specifice din psihologia sănătăţii. La o trecere în revistă a tematicilor domeniului amintim următoarele teme: necesitatea studierii psihologiei sănătăţii, modele în psihologia sănătăţii (de exemplu, modelul biopsihosocial), sistemele corpului (nervos, endocrin, cardiovascular, respirator, digestiv etc.), afecţiunile şi psihologia (în bolile de inimă, diabet, congestii, leziuni cerebrale, artrită, HIV, etc.), aplicaţii în subdomeniile de specialitate (psihoendocrinologie, psihoneuroimunologie, psihocardiologie etc.), promovarea comportamentului sănătos (de exemplu, menţinerea unei diete sănătoase, controlul greutăţii, somnul, fumatul şi alcoolismul - aspecte psihologice, sociale, strategii de tratament), modele ale schimbării comportamentului, prevenirea accidentelor, comportamentul şi diagnosticele severe, precum cancerul, stresul şi factorii determinanţi, boala, personalitatea şi copingul, starea de bine, susţinerea socială, familiala, cuplul, echilibrul psihic, rolul psihologului în terapia oamenilor bolnavi, răspunsurile emoţionale la bolile cronice (negarea, anxietatea, depresia ), tehnici de control al gândurilor, emoţiilor sau altor simptome dezadaptative, managementul durerilor şi bolilor cronice, psihoterapia durerii (hipnoza, imageria dirijată, distragerea pacientului etc.), calitatea vieţii, intervenţia psihologică în boala cronică, educarea pacientului, programele de promovare a sănătăţii, aspecte metodologice (evaluare, măsurare a stării de sănătate şi a nenumăratelor variabile psiho-comportamentale), provocări ale cercetării şi aplicaţiilor psihologiei sănătăţii în anumite cadre existenţiale (în familie, clinici, organizaţii, etc.), folosirea serviciilor de sănătate, intervenţiile în cadrul spitalelor sau unităţilor specializate, spitalizarea copiilor, pregătirea pentru intervenţiile medicale, caracteristici ale persoanelor care lucrează în domeniul sănătăţii, comunicarea psiholog-pacient, pacient-medic, analiza costurilor necesare derulării programelor de sănătate etc. La aceste teme se adaugă contribuţii moderne: graniţele normalităţii psiho-comportamentale, studiile personalităţii sănătoase, personalitatea pozitivă, aspecte psihologice în patologiile cerebrale, fenomene dezadaptative, fragilitatea psihică în afecţiunile psihosomatice, studii cu privire la familie şi dinamica partenerială, activităţi şi relaţii terapeutice, standarde actuale ale exercitării practicii în domeniul psihologiei sănătăţii, etc. Intenţia editorului, dar şi autorilor este de a continua acest demers editorial în anii ce vor urma, având voinţa consolidării pregătirii pretendenţilor la angajare în domeniul sănătăţii, dar şi a celor care deja activează în aceste structuri.
