Overview: Intrecciare psicologia e politica vuol dire tutto e vuol dire niente. La psicologia ha come oggetto lo studio dell'uomo da parte del uomo, la politica ha come oggetto l'amministrazione della società dove l'uomo stesso è inserito. Sembrerebbe naturale guardare alle due sfere come intrecciate o, almeno, influenzate reciprocamente. Nel 1950 Car Gstav Jung introduce il temine "sincronicità" per descrivere una connessione fra eventi, psichici o oggettivi, che avvengono in modo sincrono, cioè nello stesso tempo, e tra i quali non vi è una relazione di causa-effetto ma una evidente comunanza di significato. La sincronicità è relativa quindi alle "coincidenze significative"…Le coincidenze significative è anche il titolo del nuovo libro di Giorgio Galli che, esplorando la storia italiana ed internazionale, rintraccia rapporti tra fatti che, se pur reciprocamente influenzati, sono svincolati da un rapporto di causa ed effetto. La cronaca, gli eventi politici, le guerre, i conflitti offrono numerosi esempi di coincidenze; trovare un nesso che lega scientificamente la maggior parte di questi eventi è impossibile, eppure la nozione di “sincronicità” jungiana calza a pennello; non vanno cercate spiegazioni razionali perché «La causalità è solo un principio, e la psicologia non può venir esaurita soltanto con metodi causali, perché lo spirito (la psiche) vive ugualmente di fini». Nel lavoro di Giorgio Galli coincidenze e politologia sono magistralmente abbinate attraverso incursioni nelle vicende di Matteotti, Mussolini e Moro, attraverso presidenti degli Stati uniti apparentemente lontani come Obama e Reagan. Un esempio di “coincidenza significativa” impressionante vale la pena di riportarlo per intero: “Era l’11 Settembre. Distolti dalla loro missione ordinaria da piloti decisi a tutto, gli aerei sprofondano nel cuore della metropoli, risoluti ad abbattere i simboli di un potere politico detestato. E’ un attimo: le esplosioni, le facciate che deflagrano, i crolli in un fracasso infernale, i sopravvissuti atterriti che fuggono imbiancati dalle macerie. E i media che diffondono la tragedia in diretta…” A cosa vi fa pensare? Al contrario di tutto ciò che immediatamente possono trasmettere queste parole, quello che raccontano, veramente, non è la tragedia di New York, ma quella di Santiago del Cile, l’11 Settembre del 1973. “11” – “Settembre”: ecco un esempio di coincidenza significativa. Galli interpreta davvero originalmente la nozione di Jung e la applica alle sue conoscenze da Politologo; il risultato è un libro dal duplice interesse psicologico e societario che, personalmente, consiglio a tutti. I liked it for the most part. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Will be looking for more from this author.
