Overview: Pemuda Sosialis Indonesia (Pesindo) merupakan kelompok pemuda terbesar dalam kancah Revolusi Indonesia. Jumlah anggotanya paling banyak dan struktur organisasinya tersusun paling sistematis di antara kelompok pemuda lainnya. Kegiatan mereka juga sangat luas, mulai dari penerbitan majalah, propaganda radio, hingga perjuangan bersenjata melalui unit-unit kelaskaran yang diperbantukan pada tentara Republik Indonesia. Pesindo juga menggelar usaha-usaha pendidikan dan pelatihan melalui Sekolah Menengah Proletar dan Marx House. Anggota Pesindo berperan aktif dalam diplomasi Indonesia di pelbagai forum internasional, misalnya “Festival Pemuda dan Pelajar” di Praha (1947) serta “Konferensi Pemuda dan Pelajar Asia Tenggara yang Berjuang untuk Kebebasan dan Kemerdekaan” di Kalkuta (1948).Sayangnya, keterlibatan Pesindo dalam Front Demokrasi Rakyat di Madiun (1948) membuat Pesindo akhirnya tersisih dari panggung politik Indonesia. Dan perubahan mereka menjadi Pemuda Rakyat yang lantas dihancurkan pasca 1965 membuat nama mereka dihapus selamanya dari penulisan sejarah Indonesia.Buku ini bisa jadi adalah buku pertama yang membahas organisasi pemuda yang tidak ada duanya dalam sejarah Indonesia ini.

It was just alright. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Might work better for someone else, just wasn't completely for me.

I liked it for the most part. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Worth the time and money.
