Auszug: Die Dampflokomotiven der Baureihe 42 wurden als Kriegslokomotive KDL 3 von der Deutschen Reichsbahn angeschafft. Sie waren fur schwere Guterzuge vorgesehen, die mit der DRB-Baureihe 52, der leichteren KDL 1, nicht wirtschaftlich befordert werden konnten. Die Anzahl der gebauten Maschinen erreichte bei weitem nicht die der Planungen und blieb weit geringer als die der Baureihe 52. Auch litten Serienbau und Konstruktion unter den Umstanden des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Dennoch war sie in der Zeit nach dem Krieg in vielen Landern Mittel- und Osteuropas eine wichtige Stutze bei der Beforderung von Guterzugen. DB, DR (Ost) und OBB, sowie deren Vorgangerorganisationen der Nachkriegszeit fuhrten die Lokomotiven als Baureihe 42 weiter. Die anderen europaischen Bahngesellschaften bezeichneten die Lokomotiven neu. In Luxemburg wurden die Nummern CFL 5501 bis 5521 vergeben. Ungarische Lokomotiven wurden zu den MAV 501.001 bis 005. In Polen wurde den im Krieg dort verbliebenen Lokomotiven die Bezeichnung PKP Ty3-1 bis Ty3-3 zugeordnet. In der Nachkriegszeit ubernahm die Polnische Staatsbahn eine vor Kriegsende begonnene Bauserie der KDL 3 als PKP-Reihe Ty43 und ubertrug diese Bezeichnung spater auch auf die Ty3. Die zur Sowjetunion ubergegangenen Lokomotiven sollten zur S D-Reihe TL werden, was allerdings nur selten umgesetzt wurde. In Bulgarien wurde aus Nachkriegslieferungen der Baureihe 42 die BD -Rei

Not bad, but not my favorite. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Might work better for someone else, just wasn't completely for me.
