Overview: Indie Comics Quarterly is an anthology series dedicated to showcasing the work of contemporary artists and writers in the independent comic community. To promote the medium of comics as a visual and literary art form, the anthology series exists in order to provide the community with an on-going platform for promoting their work. Volume 1 features the work of Laura Ellyn, David Crane, Michelle Macinsky, Anna Ferrer Alberti, Patrick McEvoy, Olivia Pelaez, James Griffin, Mike Cooper, Tyler Spicknell, Ben Clifford, Anna Jeavons, Owen Heitmann and Crystal Ash. The anthology series does not give preferance to any one type of storytelling or style of art. The objective is to showcase a range of styles in order to reflect the trends and innovations currently circulating in the independent comic community.

Crystal Ash is the author of several novels. Originally from the East Coast, they now live in the Midwest with family. In addition to writing, Crystal Ash enjoys gardening, cooking, and reading way past bedtime. Their work often explores the complexities of everyday life and human relationships.

Finished it in a couple of days. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Glad I picked this up.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Still a good book.
