La seconda parte del volume prende in esame la magia iniziatica – dai poco noti riti massonici “di frangia” come i riti di Memphis e di Misraim, di cui l’autore ricostruisce con pazienza la complessa storia, ai numerosi movimenti neo-pitagorici, Rosa-Croce, martinisti, neotemplari, gnostici –, la magia cerimoniale (tuttora vivace negli eredi dei maghi famosi come Aleister Crowley, Dion Fortune e Giuliano Kremmerz e nelle molteplici forme della magia sessuale ed evocatoria), e infine la neostregoneria e il neopaganesimo, di cui viene evocato anche il complesso e spesso frainteso legame con il nazional-socialismo e i suoi attuali nostalgici.
