Discover No Access To God: This Book is a wake-up call for the seven billion squatters on this planet who are now drinking in the "Last Chance Saloon". by John Marsden. Start reading today and explore ideas, insights, and experiences that stay with you.

Overview: There are two enormous mysteries in this life, which are so miraculous and yet so commonplace that we seldom give them the time of day. The first of these mysteries relates to us, over seven billion of us and counting. We live on this beautiful fertile earth enjoying all the fruits of nature. A veritable Garden of Eden. But what`s it all about really? Just who are we, and why are we here? Nobody asked me if I wanted to come, Surely there must be a reason for it all. Then there`s the second big mystery. Where are we? Ok, we live in the atmosphere of planet earth, circling around an ordinary star in a spiral arm of the Milky Way galaxy at around 67,000 miles per hour. Isn`t that fantastic? And what holds it all together? What holds the 260 cubic miles of our earth unsupported in the infinity of space? "Gravity", you say. But what is gravity? It`s just a seven letter word we use to describe the force of attraction between masses. But where does this force of gravity come from that exerts its influence across billions of miles of empty space. It`s three hundred years since Isaac Newton discovered the Laws of Gravity, yet we still haven`t a clue what this force is, or where it comes from. These mysteries, and many more are considered in the first two parts of the book. In an attempt to shed light on these mysteries, I have hypothesised on the only explanation I believe possible, namely that there must be some other agency involved, some supreme intelligence with which our brain is incapable of communicating. This life we lead is a bit like being at a magician`s stage performance. We only see what he wants us to see. In this little book I`ve tried to draw back the curtains just a crack, to peep at what`s behind it all. The third part of the book looks at the history of our species from early forest primates through to the present day. It is an amazing tapestry of human endeavour, through two life changing revolutions. I have tried to analyse the way we are facing the most alarming problems of today; problems of famine, depletion of resources, wars, and surely the most serious problem of all, which is probably already insoluble, our exploding population. About the Author..... Dr. John Marsden grew up in Derbyshire, where he trained as a Mechanical Engineer. After graduating he was a research lecturer at London University. His interest in general science has lead him into many areas of research from helicopter blade performance to the design of artificial limbs, from which he gained his Ph.D. After his wife died he retired to the lovely Isle of Man where he lives alone. He has two children.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. A solid 4 stars from me.
