Perekonomian misalnya, tegak di atas nilai-nilai kebenaran, keadilan dan penghapusan kezhaliman dalam segala sektor, meletakkan target-target ekonomi yang ril, pembagian harta kekayaan yang masuk ke dalam kas negara secara adil, meningkatkan taraf ekonomi dan kemakmuran masyarakat, berikut langkah-langkah yang ril, seperti: menyediakan iklim yang kondusif yang menunjang pertumbuhan ekonomi, membuka kebebasan ekonomi dalam skala luas, menetapkan regulasi perdagangan, kebijakan pertanian, dan menyediakan infrastruktur yang baik, sehingga semua orang dengan suka cita ikut terlibat dalam aktifitas ekonomi, bahkan lahan-lahan yang mati menjadi hidup. Hasilnya, rakyat luas, Muslim dan non Muslim, hidup berkecukupan, sampai tak ada orang yang mau menerima zakat dan sedekah. Tonggak penting dalam negara yang dibangun Umar adalah, pertama, berdirinya pusat-pusat kajian ilmiah dan pendidikan, dan kedua, orang-orang yang menjadi penasihat, gubernur dan para pejabatnya adalah orang-orang yang jujur, amanah, shalih dan berilmu.Kekhalifahan Umar ini adalah fakta sejarah di depan mata orang-orang yang senantiasa meneriakkan, Negara yang berdiri di atas Syariat Islam sangat rentan didera berbagai masalah dan krisis, sangat beresiko hancur setiap saat, negara model begini hanyalah mimpi. Padahal sejarah itu terus menantang dengan mengatakan, Tunjukkanlah bukti kebenaranmu, jika kamu adalah orang yang benar. (Al-Baqarah: 111). Dan kekhalifahan Umar ini adalah bantahannya; di mana dengan dasar Syari'at, keadilan menjadi tegak, hingga tidak ada tirani minoritas dan tidak ada minoritas yang tertindas. It was okay. It felt a bit repetitive in the middle. Could have been shorter. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.
