Overview: श्रीशिवछत्रपतींना झालेला राज्याभिषेक ही एक युगप्रवर्तक घटना आहे. त्यामुळे हिंदू सार्वभौमत्व पुनःप्रस्थापित झाले. दिल्ली (इंद्रप्रस्थ), चितोड, कर्णावती, देवगिरी, विजयनगर, वरंगळ अशी हिंदू सिंहासने संपुष्टात आली. हिंदुस्थानावर इस्लामी राज्यकर्त्यांचा किमान पाचशे वर्षे अंमल असताना शिवाजी महाराजांनी हिंदूंकरिता स्वतंत्र राज्य निर्माण केले. सतराव्या शतकात निर्माण झालेल्या या राज्याचे अठराव्या शतकात साम्राज्यात रूपांतर होऊन मराठ्यांनी मुघल साम्राज्य धुळीला मिळविले. शिवाजी महाराजांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली मराठ्यांनी, मुघलांशी दीर्घकालीन लढा देत राष्ट्राची गुलामगिरीतून मुक्तता केली आणि हिंदूंना इस्लामी अन्याय आणि अत्याचार यांच्या जोखडातून मुक्त केले. शिवाजी महाराजांच्या या कार्याची महती कथन करताना रामचंद्रपंत अमात्यांनी आपल्या 'आज्ञापत्र' या ग्रंथात म्हटले आहे 'केवळ नूतन सृष्टीच निर्माण केली'. हिंदुस्थानाच्या इतिहासाला कलाटणी देऊन राष्ट्राच्या प्रवाहाची दिशा बदलणारी ती घटना होती 'श्रीशिवराज्याभिषेक'. या प्रसंगाचे महत्त्व कृष्णाजी अनंत सभासदाच्या पुढील ओळींत सामाविलेले आहे. तो म्हणतो 'या युगी सर्व पृथ्वीवर म्लेच्छ बादशाह. मऱ्हाटा पातशाह येवढा छत्रपती जाला ही गोष्ट काही सामान्य जाली नाही.' युवा इतिहास संशोधक डॉ. केदार फाळके यांनी लिहिलेल्या या ग्रंथाचे स्वागत वाचक नेहमीप्रमाणे मोठ्या आपुलकीने करतील असा श्री शिवाजी रायगड स्मारक मंडळा विश्वास आहे.
