Om Fruktan och bävan skrev Sören Kierkegaard själv så här i sin dagbok 1849, sex år efter bokens tillkomst: "Man börjar nästa rysa av det mörka patos som går genom denna bok aldrig var boken så allvarlig som den gången och ändå var mystifikationen just den att Fruktan och bävan reproducerade mitt eget liv." Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. Still a good book.
