Psykoanalysens grunnlegger Sigmund Freud øvde stor innflytelse på kulturlivet i hele Vesten, ikke bare gjennom sitt menneskesyn, men også gjennom sine mange arbeider om kunst og litteratur. Denne boka viser Freuds litterære betydning på flere felt: Gjennom flere berømte sykehistorier framstår Freud som en meget selvbevisst forteller. Mellom psykoanalyse og litteratur åpner med den lange og intrikate sykdomshistorien til lille Hans, tar med seg den med tiden svært populære Freud-teksten «Det uhyggelige», den viktige «Sorg og melankoli», og den berømte (og beryktede) teksten om Leonardo da Vinci, før boka avsluttes med artikler viet diktere som Shakespeare, Goethe og Ibsen. Glad someone recommended this to me. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Would probably read it again at some point.

Not bad, but not my favorite. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.
