Overview: Mit seinem streitbaren Plädoyer »Die Kunst, Recht zu behalten« lieferte Schopenhauer eine brillante Einführung in die Tricks und Kniffe des erfolgreichen Argumentierens. Dabei ging es dem berühmten Philosophen sowohl um das rhetorische Vermögen, die eigenen Argumente geschickt zu vertreten, als auch darum, die Strategien der Gesprächspartner besser zu durchschauen. Höchst unterhaltsam und überzeugend erläutert er anhand von 38 Kunstgriffen, auf welche Weise derjenige, der Recht hat, am Ende auch tatsächlich Recht behält. Arthur Schopenhauer, 1788 in Danzig geboren, beschloss mit 17, Philosophie zu studieren, und veröffentlichte bereits in seinem 30. Lebensjahr, von der Öffentlichkeit völlig ignoriert, sein Hauptwerk »Die Welt als Wille und Vorstellung« .Erst gegen Ende seines Lebens erntete er Ruhm mit dem Werk »Parerga und Paralipomena «. Es bildete sich ein kleiner Kreis von Verehrern um den flötespielenden »ungeselligen Gesellen«, der seine Pudel »Du Mensch« schimpfte, wenn sie unartig gewesen waren. Schopenhauer starb 1860 in Frankfurt am Main.

Finished it in a couple of days. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Would probably read it again at some point.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Will be looking for more from this author.
