Overview: ESTELA GARCÍA CABRERA nació en Pinar del Río, Cuba, y allí realizó sus primeros estudios en el Colegio Inmaculado Corazón de María. En 1962 se trasladó a los Estados Unidos y reside desde 1966 en Ponce, Puerto Rico. Estudió Pedagogía y en 1981 se graduó Suma Cum Laude de Maestría en Artes en Estudios Hispánicos de la Pontificia Universidad Católica ded Puerto Rico, institución de la que es profesora de Español desde 1970. Ha dirigido, durante varios años, numerosos programas diurnos y nocturnos encaminados a la enseñanza del Español como segundo idioma, lo que le ha valido una vasta experiencia. Actualmente ofrece cursos de gramática, literatura antillana, introducción a los géneros literarios y Español como segundo idioma.Ha publicado Al oeste de mi voz (Mairena, 1987), de versos y narraciones, y Voces en sueños (Pont. Univ. Católica de P.R., 1991), de cuentos y poemas para niños, producto de su experiencia en el trabajo que, desde 1987, realiza para los niños en el programa radial "Una aventura con el saber", que transmite semanalmente la misma Universidad, y que le ha valido premios y reconocimientos, tanta de la magna institución como del Instituto Telerradial de Ética de Puerto Rico.Desde 1995 es directora de Horizontes, revista del claustro de la Pontificia Universidad. En 1996 recibió el reconocimiento de dicha institución universitaria por veinticinco años de fecunda labor docente y por su dedicación a la formación integral de sus estudiantes dentro y fuera del ámbito universitario.

I was pleasantly surprised. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

It was just alright. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Will be looking for more from this author.
