Overview: Il Manuale del film è divenuto negli anni un punto di riferimento per l'insegnamento del linguaggio cinematografico nei corsi universitari e una guida per tutti coloro che, amando il cinema, cercano con i film un rapporto che vada di là della loro semplice visione. Attraverso ampie analisi di scene e sequenze tratte da film che appartengono a diversi momenti della storia del cinema, a differenti generi, stili e autori, il libro studia il linguaggio cinematografico in tutte le sue componenti: dalla sceneggiatura alla scenografia, dal punto di vista della macchina da presa a quello dei personaggi, dal fuori campo ai movimenti di macchina, dal montaggio al rapporto fra suono e immagine. Questa nuova edizione del "Manuale del film" nasce dal bisogno di rendere conto dei grandi cambiamenti avvenuti in questi anni sia nel cinema in quanto tale, sia negli studi a esso dedicati. Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Would probably read it again at some point.

It was okay. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.
