Overview: New Jersey Exile is an autobiographical account of a journey through the music industry, from the days of vinyl to the present. A pro guitarist since 15yrs old, Ben Markus managed to get his debut album signed to PYE as an artist in his own right in 1983. Many albums followed with varying degrees of success but this story is about much more including chapters of his ten years serving as a Fireman on a busy city station, being a father, (at one point having all 4 of his children on a number of recordings and albums) and includes his battle with cancer in 2012.

Ben Markus is a writer and avid reader based in the Pacific Northwest. Before pursuing writing full-time, they spent over a decade working in education. When not working on their next book, Ben Markus can usually be found hiking with their dog or trying out new coffee shops in their neighborhood.

It was okay. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Just right down the middle.
