Overview: The essays in Indigenous Women and Work create a transnational and comparative dialogue on the history of the productive and reproductive lives and circumstances of Indigenous women from the late nineteenth century to the present in the United States, Australia, New Zealand/Aotearoa, and Canada. Surveying the spectrum of Indigenous women's lives and circumstances as workers, both waged and unwaged, the contributors offer varied perspectives on the ways women's work has contributed to the survival of communities in the face of ongoing tensions between assimilation and colonization. They also interpret how individual nations have conceived of Indigenous women as workers and, in turn, convert these assumptions and definitions into policy and practice. Such a great read. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. A generous 3 stars.

Such a great read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Would probably read it again at some point.

Pretty good overall. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. A solid 4 stars from me.
