Overview: Tim Burgess grew up in rural Cheshire but from his mid-teens he spent as much time as he could at the legendary Hacienda in Manchester. He was invited to be the vocalist in newly formed The Charlatans, who went from supporting The Stone Roses to having three UK number one albums and seventeen Top Thirty singles. They rode the waves of first Madchester then Britpop. Tim Burgess writes contemporary fiction and has always been fascinated by character-driven stories. They hold a degree in English Literature and previously worked as an editor before transitioning to writing their own books. Tim Burgess lives with their spouse and a very vocal rescue cat.
I liked it for the most part. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. A solid 4 stars from me.

Really enjoyed this one. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. A solid 5/5 for me.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Would probably read it again at some point.
