Krigen utgjorde innledningen av Balkanfelttoget under andre verdenskrig. Fra 6. april 1941 intervenerte Tyskland pa Italias side, dermed var konflikten betegnet som slaget om Hellas. Angrepskrigen mot den greske staten var et italiensk forsok pa a utvide Italias innflytelse pa Balkan. Italia, under ledelse av Benito Mussolini, hadde erobret Albania i 1939 og onsket a ekspandere videre. En erobring av Hellas passet utmerket i Mussolinis ambisjoner om a skape et nytt Romerrike. Men den italienske invasjonen motte sterkere motstand enn ventet. Selv om italienerne var overlegne i ildkraft, greide grekerne ikke bare a presse italienerne ut av Hellas, men ogsa a okkupere det sorlige Albania, som Hellas hadde gjort krav pa lenge. Mussolini matte be Tyskland og Adolf Hitler om hjelp. Hitler ble overrumplet. Etter en lang planleggingsperiode var han klar til a angripe Sovjetunionen, og matte omgruppere sorover for a bista Italia. Under et mote med den italienske utenriksminister grev Ciano 18. november kunngjorde han at Tyskland ville gripe inn, men for a beskytte egne interesser som ble satt i fare av den mislykkede offen.

Not bad, but not my favorite. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. Just right down the middle.
