Overview: Watership Down is a 1978 British animated adventure drama film written, produced and directed by Martin Rosen and based on the hugely popular book of the same name by Richard Adams. It was released on October 19, 1978 and was an immediate success, becoming the sixth most popular film of 1979 at the British box office. The same year of the film release, "The Watership Down Film Picture Book with linking text by Richard Adams" was published, a book of pictures from the film with linking text from the original novel by Richard Adams. It features a preface written by Richard Adams and a foreword written by Martin Rosen; hardcover with glossy printed cover over boards, 9.5" x 8'" x 1", more than 250 colour stills from the film captioned with quotes from the book and the movie script, unpaginated - over 200 pages. I liked it for the most part. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Enjoyable weekend read.

I was pleasantly surprised. I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me guessing without being too confusing. Glad I picked this up.

Really enjoyed this one. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Would probably read it again at some point.

A solid read. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. Still a good book.

Glad someone recommended this to me. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Will be looking for more from this author.
